The German blogger Die Singende Lehrerin has called for another blog challenge. I already participated in her Marry Me challenge a few months ago and figured this one would be fun as well. This time the challenge is to name 6 sexy fictional characters you wouldn’t mind diving into bed with. They aren’t supposed to be serious relationship material, just a bit o’ fun. This whole challenge is a little ‘thought expermiment’ as she calls it. So, it’s all about the character, not the actor, but for me the actor also very much helps with this thought experiment which means my thoughts mostly turn to characters portrayed by some of my favourite actors.
Before I get to my list, let me tell you that this is at the edge of my comfort zone as I am not a one-night-stand fling kinda girl in real life and so I never really think in those terms. In real life, if I’d want to dive into bed with someone, I’d want some longer-term potential attached to it and that transfers to my fangirl life as well. This doesn’t take away from the fact that there are some very sexy, fling-material characters out there that can also get into my head. So, here goes:
1- The first (and initially only) character that immediately sprang to mind was John Porter (Richard Armitage) in Strike Back series one, because well, someone so desperate for a lay to release some tension may be fun for a night and look at those arms – strong but not too much.

2- I really like but somehow don’t particularly fancy the actor Tom Ellis. However, his character Lucifer Morningstar in the TV series Lucifer might be a lot of fun to have a fling with, wings and all. He’s the king of flings and shows countless women a good time in bed, I suspect I could really learn something from him and have fun too…

3- Speaking of Lucifer, Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) might be educational and fun as well for a little fling! I find her very beautiful, intense and sexy.

4- Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) in Suits before he finally came to his senses and chose Donna, just because he oozes sexy, and self-assuredness and knows how to show a woman a good time.

5- Jareth the Goblin King (David Bowie) from Labyrinth, because of reasons I once posted about before. It’s the gaze and the…erm…long legs that would make me curious.

6- Last but not least: I watched this older series called Single Ladies a while back because D.B. Woodside was in it. It’s a bit like Sex and the City, which was OK but not a fave of mine and neither was this series. However, D.B. Woodside as Malcolm Franks, a rich playboy business guy with some shady deals but a good heart underneath, was very sexy. So, yeah, I’d pick him as well for a little fling-fun…

That’s it, that’s my (not really surprising if you read here regularly) list. If you, dear reader, have any suggestions/additions of your own, feel free to let me know in the comments or on your own blogs.
On an end note: the Marry Me challenge was far easier for me than coming up with this list of flings without longer-term potential. Maybe if I considered it more, I could come up with more, but for now, I’m quite happy and comfortable with my six flings.
Okay, again I would have to vote for Detective Inspector Jack Robinson (Nathan Page) from Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. That voice! I would agree with Lucifer Morningstar. Clever and funny and ohh so handsome. Then, showing my age, I certainly swooned over Jonathan Hart (Robert Wagner) in Hart to Hart (Handsome, smart and romantic.). I’m sure I could come up with more, but those three would top my list. Such fun!

Nice list too! Thanks for playing, Joan.
See, I don’t think Jack would be fling material for me, he’d have long term potential, as would Jonathan Hart, really. I totally can see where you’re coming from, though. 🙂

I guess I would settle for “one gaudy night” if that’s all I could get!

Oh, and oooh, good point about Jack Robinson’s voice. Perfect for sweet nothings said softly into my ear…

What about that: I forgot about Lucifer! 😳 Maze and Harvey are also very good choices (Harvey was on my list in 2016; I finally need to catch up on the last seasons, as there was a (happy) spoiler for me in your post 😉). I don’t know roles number 1 & 6 – but with the actors involved I can imagine the appeal. 😊 The Goblin King is a very interesting choice! Wouldn’t have crossed my mind but – hey, it’s David Bowie! ❤️
I’d like to clarify that I’m not into one-night stands in real life either. 😉 I do like to fantasize though… 😇

It’s fine even if you are into one-night stands! I’m told it can be a great form of release. 😉 Like you, I like to keep that experience in fiction-land, though.
Whoops, sorry about the Suits spoiler but it’s been a while now, so I figured it was safe. I don’t know where you got stuck on Suits but it’s at the end of season 8…
Of these roles, I think number 6 is maybe the least prolific/most obscure but dayum, D.B. Woodside is fine in that. 🙂

Yeah, I didn’t want to shame people who enjoy one-night stands either. As long as it’s consensual, everyone can do what pleases them. ❤️
No worries about the spoiler – it’s my own fault that I haven’t caught up. 😃
I met D.B. Woodside in person at the Magic Con (I think in 2019) – very humble man, very fine too. 😊

Oh my, lucky woman for having met D.B.! Yes, he seems a very thoughtful person.

What a creative and fun list! Richard from This Way Up would be my one night fling which turns into many nights flinging 😂he’s sweet, down to earth and puts a woman’s needs ahead of his own ❤️
I would throw Claude Becker in there too because he would be fun to play cards with and romp around in bed and he loves dogs 🐶 so he’s a lovable cad

I was confused for a moment there about Richard in This Way Up – I couldn’t recall Richard Armitage being in anything called that! And then I realized you meant Tobias Menzies as a character named Richard. 😂 I’ve got to tell you, I considered putting him on the list for Outlander, but he’s just too chilling as Black Jack and Frank is more long-term than fling material.
Ooh, Claude Becker is a good one! Hadn’t thought of him. He’d be my number 7, I guess. 🙂

Yes me too Esther I thought about him for BJR or Frank but Frank wasn’t as developed as BJR and he’s just so evil I don’t think I could have recovered with a fling with him 😂😂
Claude would make it a memorable night and he is a wall guy too 👍❤️
I highly recommend This Way Up and he is soo my type in it

Ooh, I like your choices, Esther! I would need more than one night with Porter, ditto Guy of Gisborne … in fact I’m not sure I could let them go. I’m drawn to any handsome wicked character, not fussy!

LOL! Yes, only one night with John does seem a bit short…

Raymond too then!! And the Red Dragon himself Frances! ❤️❤️❤️😁

Yes, I did think of them ( and Daniel and Lucas and ….) but, like Porter and Gisborne, one night wouldn’t be enough! Frances also, would need a bit more time too.

Daniel and Lucas would be possibilities for me too but they aren’t quite as hot as Porter to me. 😊

If I had no inkling he was such a brutal serial killer I could maybe, possibly, hypothetically be tempted with Francis. Think I’d rather have Guy, though. And no Raymond, too menacing for me. 🙂

Francis tempts me because I think he’s got a soft side actually romantic in him and he’s broken which as I am a project person I would be drawn to help him
Raymond ahh he’s so sexy on that horse and he’s trying to prove himself to his father which I can relate to 😊

Mazikeen could be one of my choices too.

Esther, I thought you might joy the fact that I went to the Miss Fisher Con in Richmond, VA this weekend. I had a marvelous time meeting other people in the fandom and sharing my ever so slightly over the top obsession with Nathan Page. Great fun!

Oh my, that sounds lovely, thank you for sharing! Did you also dress up in 1920s fashion? And were there talks and workshops?
LikeLike
Yes, I loved dressing up in my MFMM break and enter outfit as well as a white day dress with yellow sweater as seen in the tennis episode. I had period shoes and it was all great fun. There were several workshops on making cocktails (Mr. Butler shines again), hat design, and my personal favorite, the influence of the war on the series. There were zoom visits with the cinematographer Roger Lancer, Izabella Yena, and Geraldine Hakewill. Even a MFMM sing along, all held at the beautiful historic Jefferson Hotel in Richmond.

I know what you mean about Tom Ellis. I like him and can see intellectually that he is handsome and well-put-together and looks good in a suit. But he doesn’t particularly tick that box for some reason.

Exactly. Weird, isn’t it? And I liked him from Miranda, before I ever saw Lucifer but yeah, somehow he never ticked that box for me either.

Same here too1 He is vert good-looking, my type, but I just don’t feel it – not even when he was in Merlin and obviously modelled on Guy of Gisborne, after RA’s success.
