This is the life…

Believe me, I know how lucky I am to have a great husband and great kids and the opportunity to take a lovely 2.5 week holiday to the sunny Island of Rhodes in Greece with them!

We arrived yesterday…

… and when we entered our (relatively simple but comfortable) two bedroom apartment we found we have access to our own huge, private balcony, with a peek towards the Aegean Sea!

In the afternoon we dove into the hotel pool and in the evening had lovely Greek food at our hotel restaurant…

Today, after sleeping in, getting some groceries and lazing (kids at the pool, Mr Esther & I reading on our balcony in the shade), we took a dip in the Aegean…

Tomorrow we have our rental car and we will venture further afield. Holidays have started well! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  3. That looks beautiful! Iโ€™m already missing the beach. Not Greece, but still…

    • I’m not really a beach kinda girl, but I can bear an hour or two occasionally, to please the kids.. The Mediterranean and Aegean water is admittedly pleasant on these hot days! And very pretty too. As is Rhodes. Totally different world from where I live in now, but a lot of it reminds me of my childhood in Israel. ๐Ÿ˜Š

      • I like to lie on the beach reading, with the occasional dip in the water to cool off. Very relaxing.

      • I don’t like the beach for more than a few hours. My sister and I went on a cruise this past July for her 50th bday. I went last year for mine to Hawaii with my best friend from college and her daughter. My sis loves the beach, could lounge for hours but hates the water (ie another Richard water phobia freak) but one day excursion was to a beach and so there she sat, sucking down fruity drinks and baking er basking in the sun’s glow. I tried to snorkel but couldn’t get the gear to work. It was very tranquil though.. This place looks awesome…

        • I find beaches hard to take for longer periods of time as well… And once I’ve been to one, then I feel no need to go again anytime soon after.

          • Yup I am the exact same way. My sister could lounge for hours on the beach. I get bored, hot, don’t like the sand on my body, restless. I do love the water though.. Cozumel was beautiful and the beach we were lounging at was part of a resort that the cruise contracted tours with so everything was well monitored and clean and well maintained.

        • I’d love to see Hawaii some day!

          • I loved Hawaii. My dad had been there twice, I originally advocated for my sis for her 50th to go there but she didn’t like the flight time and thought it was too expensive. When my best friend and I went we stayed in Waikiki at Hyatt Regency-all included package, gorgeous rooms, beaches were fantastic, shopping, restaurants all right there. I definitely want to go back and do Maui next time. There’s more to see (ie volcanoes) and do (hang gliding) but for a first timer Honolulu is terrific. People were really nice and it wasn’t as expensive as we thought.

  6. You can sit by a table and overlook the sea and read a novel, right? ๐Ÿ™‚ This looks great and glad you’re not in Athens.
