So, that was Christmas…

Hope that for those who celebrate Christmas was good!

We had lovely Christmas Eve dinner with just the 4 of us at home. On Christmas Day, after being thankful for just a few small gifts…

… we had a lovely Christmas morning brunch that my husband made…

… and we even found time to bake Käsekuchen that we wanted to bring for my family the next day…

Late afternoon and dinner was at my in-laws where we table-grilled, much to the children’s delight! Boxing Day (or Second Christmas Day as it is known here) was spent with my family. We commemorated my dad and my oldest brother who died at age 7 a year before I was born…

We used it to celebrate my daughter’s birthday with my family (didn’t do that before as my mom had been away for a few days) and added a half pudding/crumble cake (store bought) to it. My daughter loves to bake Käsekuchen but is the only one who doesn’t like to eat it!

We ended our Christmas celebrations by lighting sparklers and singing “We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”, like we do every year!

It was a lovely Christmas with the families!

Today we are lazing about, but will soon be packing up and heading to our little family cottage (owned by my parents) in the north of The Netherlands for some rest and relaxation! Just the 4 of us, shut away from the world and only venturing out when we feel like it. Bliss…

Looking forward to it and will hopefully then also find a little time to catch up with what’s been going on on other  blogs…
