A year ago today, my DH & I were in London for the weekend, all alone, without the kids. The reason we were there? To see The Crucible at The Old Vic, which means that today is my 1st Cruciversary!
After the performance, which blew both of us away, we also met Richard Armitage at the stage door. It was over almost before it had begun but I was still able to hand him a little thank you gift and he signed some things for me. DH was able to snap a picture of me with Richard (quality not great but better than nothing):
I look slightly manic but oh, what an experience it all was! I will remember it fondly forever!
Happy Cruciversary!!!

Warum?!?

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Crucivesary. Great coinage! How nice for you to have such a lovely souvenir of your trip! And I don’t think you look manic at all – you look excited and happy. Thanks for sharing – it is really great to be reliving all these memories at the moment.

Thanks. In hindsight, it’s good (for me) the flash on the camera didn’t work… 😉

Ah, stop! I doubt that. In any case, it *is* a great reminder that will enhance the pictures you have in your mind.

What a lovely photo! He is leaning in!!! And he has such a piercing gaze. Hard to believe it has been a year.

Yes, he is, isn’t he? We were shoulder to shoulder. 🙂 He was going about the business of signing and posing quite quickly but in a very calm and gracious way. We had seen the play on Saturday evening and he had had a matinee that day as well. It is amazing to me that he could even stomach doing this so graciously. Good man.

Yes, it is a real test of character. I would be exhausted and not in the mood to talk to anyone!

Yup! The play exceeded all expectation, I saw Richard in action for 3.5 hours and I got to meet him briefly at the stage door after 8 years of loving him & following his career. It really was a dream come true.

I love the picture! It is still mind-boggling to me that he showed up night after night, all the way through the run. He’s a love!

Thanks. And yes he is! After seeing him give all in the play, it really is amazing that he could even consider doing this.
